Born and brought up in cultural and historic rich city of Lahore, Pakistan. Sarmed is a filmmaker who primarily works as a director, cinematographer and screenplay writer. He is a National College of Arts alumnus which was founded as the Mayo School of Arts by British Viceroy of India Lord Mayo in 1875.
Later he pursued his masters in film direction at Bournemouth University, United Kingdom. Also a well-known radio jockey who believes in the visual medium as the essence of social change. He predominantly likes to work in drama genres and is always looking into stories close to reality, relationships, transformation, and healing. With many national and international workshops and projects to his credentials, the filmmaker currently is working on a feature script.
